Experience behind the planning

Meet Clare Buchanan.

A teacher’s understanding of what makes a trip worthwhile.

Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Clare has organised and run educational trips and residentials across different subjects, age groups and learning aims.

Her experience includes theatre, museum and gallery visits, careers events, practical drama workshops and PSHE-themed experiences, alongside residential programmes in Europe and the USA.

Past destinations include Barcelona, Venice, Verona, Paris, Tolo in the Peloponnese, Roses, Boston and New York. That breadth of experience helps her understand both the educational ambition and the practical questions behind a school trip.

Useful to know

Your first questions, answered.

Do we need a confirmed destination or finished brief?

No. You can enquire with an early idea. Share what you know about your group and educational aims; dates, numbers and destination can be explored in the conversation.

Can you help with a different destination or subject area?

Yes. Clare has organised trips across different subject areas and with different aims. Tell us your preferred destination, age group and learning priorities so we can discuss a bespoke programme.

What will be included, and how much will it cost?

The example packages combine return flights, accommodation, airport and local transfers, scheduled activities and selected meals. Your quote will confirm the inclusions, staff places and any supplements for your dates and group size. Depending on the programme, lunches, travel insurance, UK airport travel and passport or entry costs may need separate budgeting.

How long are the example tours?

The Rome, New York and Los Angeles examples run over six days, including travel. The Kenya example runs over seven days, with time in Nairobi and two nights in the Maasai Mara. Trip length and extensions can be discussed for your group.

Will Clare accompany our trip?

Clare’s involvement will be discussed as part of your enquiry. Planning support and any accompanying role should be agreed for your particular trip before booking.

Can you help with planning paperwork?

Support with risk-assessment preparation and group passport arrangements can be discussed where appropriate. Tell us what your school needs so the available support can be clarified for your proposed trip.

Let’s explore your idea

Where would you like to take your students?

You don’t need a finished brief. Tell us your preferred destination, group and learning aims so we can discuss a suitable programme and a tailored quote.

  • Ask about the example tour programmes
  • Other destinations and subject areas
  • Early ideas welcome
