About the pack

What’s included

01

20 drama activities

Each activity has teaching instructions, suggested timings and group sizes, with examples to help you introduce it to your class. There are suggestions for pupils who need more support, ways to extend the work and questions to use in discussion afterwards.

The activities include paired work such as Mirror Partners, group soundscapes and exercises that help pupils develop an improvised scene.

02

24 printable prompt cards

The twelve situation cards give pupils a setting and a problem to explore. The twelve role cards help them think about what their character wants and how this affects the scene.

You can print and cut out the cards for small-group work, using them with the activities or as starting points for your own improvisation tasks.

03

Three suggested lesson combinations

These sequences show how to combine activities from the pack into three standalone 45-minute lessons on physical communication, improvisation and character. Each includes suggested timings, with alternatives for 30- and 60-minute lessons.

The teacher notes cover setting up the room and adapting participation for different pupils. There is also a reflection sheet you can copy for your classes.

Questions about the pack

Is this a complete scheme of work?

No. It is a collection of activities, prompt cards and teaching notes that you can dip into for warm-ups or individual lessons. The three suggested lesson combinations use activities from the pack; they do not form a complete teaching unit. Our schemes of work provide a fully resourced unit with a planned sequence of lessons.

Will it work in a US classroom?

Yes. The activities are intended for pupils aged 11–14 and can be used in UK secondary or US middle school drama lessons. The pack includes US Letter pages as well as the UK paper size. The sample will help you judge which activities suit your class; the pack is not tied to a particular curriculum or set of standards.

What equipment and preparation do I need?

You will need space for pupils to work safely in pairs and small groups, and printed copies of any cards you choose to use. The activities do not require costumes or specialist equipment. Read through the instructions beforehand so you can demonstrate the task and adapt it to your class.

What format is the pack, and do I need a subscription?

The pack is a one-off purchase, so you do not need a subscription. You receive the same content in A4 and US Letter PDFs, which you can download from your account. The files are not editable. If you already have an active Full Access membership, the pack is included.

Can I photocopy it for my classes?

Yes. Your purchase covers use by one teacher, including copies for your pupils and sharing through a secure class space. Please do not upload the pack to a public website, resell it or distribute it to other teachers. Contact us for wider school use.

How do payment and delivery work?

You will be asked to create an account or log in before paying through Stripe. The pack costs £9.95, including VAT, and payment is taken in GBP. If you pay from another country, your bank may convert the amount into your own currency. Once payment is complete, you can download the pack from your account. Our terms of sale explain purchases and refunds.
