Hats Scheme of Work

(ages 12-13)

Overview

This six-lesson scheme uses hats as a starting point to develop characters from cards and text, building background and motivation across practical sessions. Lessons progress through frozen pictures, hot-seating, profession-based tableaux, text interpretation and Stanislavski work, finishing with a whole-class improvisation for assessment. Activities include a Musical Hats warm-up and a themed improvisation exercise. Note the scheme requires you to provide hats and a piece of jazz music referenced in lesson two.
